View Full Version : XP and Enternet DSL
I installed XP and I'm having a problem with the Enternet PPoE connection program. When I try to install it it says it can't find any NICs even though I have two installed. It dies let me finnish the install but when I try and create a new connection it tells me that it found a NIC but it doesnt have tcp/ip bound to it. I looked at the network info for the card and it does have tcp/ip bound to it so I'm cinfused.
Anyone have any clue to whats going wrong???

Windows XP has built in PPPoE. NO other software needed, do this:
1) Create a new connection
2) Choose Connect to Internet
3) Create Manually (option 2)
4) Connect Using Broadband Connection that requires a username and password
5) Give it a name (IE: DSL)
6) Put in your name and password (Don't forget to add your ISP's domain as part of your userid, IE: for Verizon it is userid@verizon.net)
7) Right click and choose properties for that new connection
8) Empty entry in Service name to let it use Wan PPPOE
9) Go to Networking Folder, choose Internet Protocol TCP/IP
10) Choose Properties - Make sure everything is auto assigned
Thanks :) I'll give it a try when I get home.
oh yeah also u will not need the blue cd if u are using ur own nic....i called the isp about that coz i was having the same probelm(can't detect nic) when i am using the blue cd.....so he told me to throw that cd into the bin and told me to go straight to the yellow one....
