i am a computing tyro, so pse be warned. i have twin processors and understand from a recent email that this firewall has problems with some twin processor systems.
has anyone experienced this and also cracked the problem?
if i disable z. a., when i try to log on to the internet, the white page with the 'this page cannot be displayed etc.' notice comes on and further surfing appears to be impossible. any comment, anyone? thanks to you all once more

Even if I could have helped you, I wouldnt with an opening line like this:
i am a computing tyro, so pse be warned.
I've learned that egos can be a fragile thing. What are you threatening the humble reader with that we need warning? Good luck on fixing your problem though!

i fear, my friend, that you may be mis-reading the expression tyro, for truly i am one such.
tyro // n. (also tiro) (pl. -os)
a beginner or novice.
[Latin tiro, medieval Latin tyro ‘recruit’] :)
best wishes

Do you have the newest version of ZAP?
You say when it's DISabled, you can't get online?
If it's enabled, and working, I would just leave it running, if you can get online fine and everything. I haven't heard any problems with dual processors.

Check zonelabs techsupport (http://www.zonelabs.com/services/support_issues.htm) for the warning. It is not always problematic. If there are issues (manifesting as blocked web pages), it recommends assigning all processes related to ZAP to a single processor.
Cheers,

PS - I have been a practicing homosapien for most of my life. I catch hell all the time.
