Recurrent problemo

For the past couple of weeks Innoculate PE has detected everyday the same virus, Win32.Bymer.B worm, in this file every time, wininit.exe. What´s this all about?

Let's expand a bit....
Can you give the exact file name including the (dot)ending.

If it's ending in .cpy then go to Start>Find>Files or Folders> and search for the file. Once found, delete it>reboot and see if IPE picks it again.

It sez: Found in Wininit.exe, virus Win32.Bymer.B worm, Restored.
No other files are involved, at least which can be seen.

If it keeps comeing back, Your best bet would to see if there is a program that can remove it out their or reformat the computer and restore your os. Mainly due to your virus scanner not doing the job.

Ok.
I visited the encyclopedia at CAI (InnoculateIT) to see if Bymer B was listed and they advise that the "B" strain is still under investigation.
I would suggest, because of the way this worm works that you go to the online scanner at Symantic or TrendMicro and get the system checked out there.
Alternatively..... D/load AVG from www.grisoft.com and try it out. Either way will be fine.
