How to detect and get rid of backdoor??????

can someone help me?? cuz i downloaded this one file and alot of peeps said that it had a backdoor subseven or watever and i dont know what to do??
which software or anti-backdoor should i use? help plez.

Try reading the info here and if you are happy to d/load the program, do so.SubSeven KillSwitch. (http://www.subdimension.com/community/collective/killswitch/)
I don't remember where this came from but it was hiding in my somewhat cluttered fav's file.
If not then use one of the Trojan scanners like Trojan Defence Suite.

Oh,yeah, what was the file you d/loaded?

yep get rid of it and then install :

A. virusscanner (and update the virus info frequently)
B. firewall (go for Zone Alarm or Tiny firewall, i'd go for the latter but norton is working fine for me)

most antiviruses will do the job on backdoor viruses.

Not all antie virus cleaners will take care of backdoor trojans, Find your self a good trojan cleaner, Such as Trojan hunter at www.cnet.com under software. Plue the trojan cleaner at ww.moosoft.com. These will remove this trojan for you. Plus there are more out there. I am sure someone one else may have a few good ones with web sites to help you out.;)
