If my computers are hooked up to a Linksys router, do I still need to secure each one of them with something like zonealarm?

You should look at a firewall to stop outbound from any part of the system.
We have a network here of 2 x desktops and 1 x laptop, running through a hub and WinRoute Pro on the server which is the firewall. The laptop has a firewall but my son's does not. (His choice)
No problems so far. Thinking about going to the new version of Sygate on the laptop.

depends how paranoid you are.... do you want a better security? or do you mind if for example some program sends info about your surfing habits to it's developer???

if you do mind your privacy install a firewall, if you don't want to spend any money go for Zone Alarm or Tiny firewall.... i think the latter is the best..

And do read my signature..... I really am NOT paranoid...... (okay maybe a little)

Right On Bro...

InBound traffic is monitored or rather taken care of with your router in place , as crok suggested..focus your attention on outbound now..

i suggest ZoneAlarm...

Go for Tiny it works better for a router. This is my opinion. Or use what you perfore. Tiny is easier because it allows rule to be made for your router. GodLuck!;)
