:) Hi guys.
I downloaded a file, that is over 700MB in size. I'm using Nero to burn the CD, and since the file is over 700MB, and my CD-R is only 700MB in size, Nero says that it can't burn the file, since I dont have enough space.
I tried to compress the file, but the file was already compressed to begin with, and me trying to compress it again, didn't work.
any ideas on what I can do?

use winrar to break the file up into 2 halves... then burn each half onto a cd.

When you say a file, I assume it is an ISO or BIN.
There are also CD's that are up about 800 mbs that you can purchase. You don't say how big the file is. Have you tried to use isobuster to see how large the extracted files are? The total could be less than 700 mb - if so, you could just extract the files then drag and drop them in order to burn them.

ahh ok.
well, the files, one is 53 files total , and when I click on one file, WinAce opens up, and then it says it's a 788MB .bin file. so your saying I could just take half of it, and make 2 cd's?
I have WinRar, and WinAce. can I do the same thing with .ISObuster with these programs?

I didn't mention RAR or ACE - nor did I mention splitting the files in two, although that or something similar is a possiblity DEPENDING on
what the program is. I was thinking of certain games that when all packed exceed 700 mbs BUT when extracted can be less than 700 mbs. Maybe, if you told us what the BIN file was, someone might have figured out a specific way of doing what you are trying to do.

Yes, Richard is right. I"ve had bin files well over 700megs that burned fine with nero to a 700disc.

Maybe, if you told us what the BIN file was
ok. here's how I'm trying to do it.
I downloaded Max Payne from an FTP site. It's split up into 15MB files. The files are labeled dino-map.001, dino-map.002, etc, etc, until dino-map.053.
I click on dino-map.001, and then WinAce opens up, showing 2 files. One file is DINO-MAP.BIN it's roughly 788,000,000 bytes in size compressed.
The other file is DINO-MAP.CUE it's only 72 bytes in size.
I can't compress the .BIN file any further, and dont know what else to do. thanks for your time.
