TCP options string = 020405b4
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 49152
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 49152
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1966.08 kbps (245.76 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 786.432 kbps (98.304 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF
Time to live left = 48 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = OFF
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
22772 connections tested since 03.10.2001.

Hello. I am new to this site. Above i pasted the results from my "test tweak". I really dont know what all that means but i was hoping you guys could tell me how fast my cable connection is and if it could be "tweaked" so that it would be alot faster than what it is now. I have downloaded and installed the Cablenut program and also the Web/Speed patch. I have no idea what it did but i have downloaded and installed them. I read somewhere to test out your speed go to a fast server like www.aol.com and d/l AOL 6.0. Just to let you know my max rate was 800 KB and the lowest was 500 KB. The highest i have ever downloaded at was 1100 KB. I also did a speed test at www.dslreports.com.
Your download speed : 4538108 bps, or 4538 kbps.
Browsers would show : about a 553.9 k/sec transfer rate.
Seems pretty fast to me. But what i wanna know is, can it go any faster?

If there is anything else you need to know please just ask me.
Thanks alot...

I been following Lobo's instructions and above is the result after i made some changes. I installed Cablenut and Web/Speed patches. I typed in "1" where it says Tcp13230pts and also typed in "554800" where it says DefaultRcvWindow. Saved and Rebooted. Not sure what this all means but i was hoping someone could help me understand some of this. Thanks again...

What all this means is you are pretty quick, this may make you alittle quicker:
For Win 9x bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside icon on desktop in box that says Cablenut, click on adjuster, in box that says DefaultRvcWindow take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try: 560640, 566480 or 578160, or 607360, 642400
Leave GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize blank
You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer
At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work.Click on tools at top of IE, internet options, delete files and offline files (This is safe, temp files) and click on clear history after EVERY test Quick speed test here (http://speedtest.umnet.umich.edu/)
Speedtest may open another browser, so check taskbar and close other one, no other programs should be running, No AIM, ICQ, Virus scanner, Firewall, nothing
Once you find fast number for you, you want to save it, on file at top of adjuster click on that, save custom settings, put RWIN size in as name and click on save, now if you ever want these settings back, click on file, open custom settings file, and click on RWIN number, then click on save to registry at bottom, and REBOOT, your done. How to do real dowwnload test on help thread below in signature.:) :)

Thanks for replying back Lobo. I am having some problems changing the DefaultRvcWindow number. I changed it before from 49152 to 554800 and it showed up as 554800 on the tweak test. For some reason now its back to 49152 on the tweak test and i havent touched a thing. When i open up Cablenut adjuster it still says DefaultRvcWindow 554800. I dont understand what is going on. I changed the DefaultRvcWindow to 560640, saved and rebooted. It still says 49152 on the tweak test but it says 560640 in the Cablenut adjuster. Any suggestions?

I followed your instructions step by step and it didnt work. I unchecked all the boxes but after i reboot my computer they are checked again. What could be the problem?
Type what it says in RUN box and go back and unckeck boxes, REBOOT:)

What do i type in the RUN box? Do i put in "regsvr32 -u"? Ive already tried that and it says "Unrecognized flag: -2".
Go to Start, programs, accessories, communication, connection wizard, run that and make sure no proxy box is checked, reboot after taking checks out of boxes in control panel, internet options:)

subspace $$
btw, that IS the @home proxy RWIN.
Check to see if theres a "proxy" titled server in ANY of your hops.
Also, have you deleted the @home software? All you need is the computer name, and workgroup (@home). A clean install usually fixes things.
If all goes well, I'd suggest these Rwins:
210240
280320
373360
Anything above those is pointless unless you download frequently from distant continents.

Thanks for the help Idiot Savant but ive figured out the code to disable the auto proxy. If anybody wants to know how, go to START, RUN and type in: regsvr32 /u ahiehelp.dll
Uncheck the proxy from Internet Options, reboot and they should still be unchecked. Thanks for the help everyone. I appreciate it.

no no no... I mean the whole entire software package. The @Home disc?
Just config your connect using IE tools. you need your comp name
( C-#######- letter) and workgroup (@home).
@Home software as of late could be integrated with a fail-safe proxy connect. So just lose the software and run your internet clean :D

I uninstalled my @Home software like a long time ago. I never really liked it. IE was always much better. But even though i uninstalled the software the proxys were always checked even after i unchecked and rebooted. I dont have any @Home junk on my computer. Now that i have the proxys off everything seems alot faster than before. Im still trying to figure out which is the best RWIN for me. Thanks...

I only seem to d/l quickly (about 700KB) on the web but when i d/l using a different program such as napster i only d/l at a max rate of 90KB. What do i need to do to make it d/l at the tweaked out speed?

Napster speeds are indicative of the upload capability of the person you are uploading from. Naturally, upload caps will stifle the download not on your end, but from the other client.
