I have established a secure vpn tunnel with the Netscreen 5xp and the remote client (running Win2000) using the Netscreen client software. This goes thru a Linksys bfsr11 cable router on the remote client side to act as a nat firewall. The connection is solid, and I am able to access the server on the Netscreen side from the remote client by way of the private ip address, ie thru the tunnel, but only with ICMP/ping and the browser. While I can access the Exchange web client on the server using the browser (ie, I am using the secure tunnel to access resources on the server), I cannot establish any sort of link to the shared resources on the server from the client, and the client does not resolve the server or any of its resources thru netbios. In other words, it seems that the vpn tunnel is good, and I can access the server using the private ip address, but I cannot map any network drives or see any network resources from the remote client.

I have the Linksys router set up with a separate internal ip space from that of the main network, so as to avoid any conflicts there. Still, the Win 2000 client doesn't see the server's network to establish any sort of sharing of resources thru the tunnel.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to address this, as there are several remote clients that I would like to configure similarly, but the vendors' tech support is not helpful.
