I was wrong about Verizon.
I was hoping that it was a one time thing but it started about one week ago. Every day or night I would get cut off twice, and I would have to authencate my user name and password again to Verizon's server. three days ago, authencation was very slow or would time out "can't find valid ppp server" Now I test all of my 7 computers that I have on a ethernet, everything you can think of, all tested fine. Called and left a message with tech support.
I also notice that my speed was taking a nosedive last week. From around 600kbs then dropped to around 400kbs.
The next day Verizon fixed my problem with the authentication but....now my speed,no joke, was around a 14.4 modem! Wicked! So when I called today I finally talked to a REAL networking tech.
Of course they didn't see anything wrong but after I complained that I was going to talk to a few people at there HQ, my speed is back up..well bouncing from 200kbs to 350kbs. I am going to call
some people that I do know at Verizon HQ because I think they should boost up my speed to where it was in the first place. The tech did tell me that
Genuity was having a lot of problems, I do not know if that is true. What I do know, that I never had this many probs. when I had a good ol' Dial Up speeding around at 53.3kbs! And I also know that Verizon's tech CAN up my speed.
Just wanted to let you good folks know,I am around the Cambridge/Boston server in Ma. So if you are having simalar probs, please let me know so that I can add more fuel to MY fire when I call Verizon HQ.Thanks! I have heard that it's happening everywhere on happy Verizon!
Love it!
