Hey compadres,
I set up a network today with an SMC Barricade 7004BR router. They had one pc on the network connected via cable modem. It had two nics in it. The network is an NT4.0 server with ten Win98 and WinMe clients. In addition to the server and clients they use a terminal emulation software called Tiny Term Plus by Century Software. They log into the unix box (also on the network) to use this software package over the network.Hewlett Packard 24 port hub with both servers and all clients connected to it.Basically I moved the modem to the server area.plugged up the modem to the WAN port of the router, used a crossover to connect port 1 of the router down into the hub,Winipcfg=release renew and everybody is surfing fast.Problem is they all have new IP addresses and cannot connect to the UNIX box using the terminal emulation software.I disconnect my setup with router and modem,Winipcfg\release\renew and they IP addresses from the correct block and they using their software once again.Sorry about the length but I trying to give as much info as possible. Is this something that needs to be configured on the UNIx box,the router, the NT server?
