D link dfe 530tx

I just moved into a house with five guys and setup a sweet lan with a linksys router. Everything is great but one of my buddies comp won't do anything.....surf the internet....etc. its connected properly so I figure it must be his nic. Its a dlink 530tx???? Any suggestions....I have a different d link and it works fine?? Can anyone offer any wisdom. Thanks

1> switch the ethernet cable with another computer on the LAN...if the problem goes to the other computer, you need a new cable.

2> switch router connections with another computer...that is, simply swap ports with another PC...if it goes to the other PC, then your router has a bad port and needs to be replaced.
