hello Mr Helper, i am currently running Win XP Corp. on Pen.4 w/ 1.5Ghz plus 256MB...

DSL info: max d.stream is 60K/s (verizonDSL)...

question!!! is there a way to tweak this DSL for improvement downstream? if possible... below is my current tweak info:
**********************************************

TCP options string = 020405a001010402

MTU = 1480
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.

MSS = 1440
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1440, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 17280
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 17280
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 691.2 kbps (86.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 276.48 kbps (34.56 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 114 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

Thanks in advanced Mr.

Is this a PPPoE connection:

PPPoE you have to log on with name and password.
PPPoE ( Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet ) is a method for building PPP sessions and encapsulating packets, as described in RFC2516. Although it is not a standard, PPPoE is already being used by a number of DSL providers. It requires either routers that have built-in PPPoE support, or PPPoE software to "dial up" and establish the session.

Is it ADSL or SDSL

PPPoE=MTU 1492, the others MTU 1500
Where did your copy of XP come from:)

Just a comments....

Strange post by this time !!! MTU at 1480 and in an other thread 1496 ?? I have seen MTU locked at 1454 by enternet software but never 1480, 1496...

If this is a warez copy of XP, MTU will not be right:)
