I am trying to install a network card and everything went well, but there's this one wire (it's one of them twisted, coloured wires) that goes into the card but the instruction booklet doesn't say where the other side of the wire goes! I hope I am saying this clearly. Can anyone please help me. Thanks.

Most likely the Wake Up on Lan cable....which you do not need to use. It's used in some corporate networks, where you can remotely power up workstations from a centralized location. The other end of the cable would plug into the motherboard...as long as the motherboard supports that feature.

You can safely use your network card without the cable.
