Maybe this is redundant... but............. I've tried using the registry tweaks here, I've tried doing them manually, I even tried downloading the stuff that someone posted in this message board (the fast.zip file) and none of these methods have changed ANYTHING. I get the exact same upload and download speeds no matter what I have done. If it would at least make it worse I would know something is happening but absolutely NOTHING happens. And the changes do register on the TCP/IP Analyzer on this site, they just don't change a dern thing. I think either I am going insane or computer is dilusional. My goal is to be able to upload and download faster using programs like winmx. As it is now, I have downloaded at 150 kbps but average around 20, and my uploads have never gotten over 15 kbps, average is around 10. Someone plz help before I end up in the looney bin.

Click on Help Thread & Tips below in signature and read, please leave your OS and system specs if you have not done so. Also if you have Cablenuts adjuster installed I need to know that. Take analyzer after you install speed patch an post results so I can see if patch is in. In my signature, Click on Test Tweak Here, Thank you and good luck.

How to post TCP/IP Test:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speedguide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank
you.

Please leave system specs and Cable or DSL, OS, RAM, CPU Size:)

I am runnin windows ME and using at&t @ home cable for connection... here's the latest analyzer results (this is after installing cablenut and the fast.zip file i got from another post here)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF

Time to live left = 118 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

MTU Discovery needs to be on and what size CPU do you have and how much RAM:)

MTU Discovery box in Cablenuts adjuster=1
save to registry and REBOOT

For Win 9x bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside icon on desktop in box that says Cablenut, click on adjuster, in box that says DefaultRvcWindow take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try:522680, 524176, 531440

Leave GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize blank
You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer
At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work. Fast speed test here (http://speedtest.umnet.umich.edu/)
Speedtest may open another browser, so check taskbar and close other one:) :)

Thanks again for helping me out.. on that test site i conistently get just under and just over the 5mb barrier, but still winmx and edonkey uploads limit to 15. I guess I just can't share my awesome media. :(

Can't tweak uploads, but the later it gets the faster you will be:) :)

What you mean ur connection is slow? If you get anywhere near the 5mb barrier you have one fast connection. Mine only goes 1.8mbps in the speed test, you're lucky.

I'm happy with the download speeds... it's the upload speeds that I'm trying to increase. I have managed to get my uploads on winmx to go from average of 10-12 up to 14-16, but there's got to be more available, alot more. I used to use a Cais wireless connection, and I had the same problem but worse with uploads. They would start at around 2 and slowly just die out. I'm convinced it's got to be something on my system, otherwise i couldnt have gotten it from 10-12 up 14-16. Has anyone out there been able to get an AT&T Cable connection to upload faster than this on p2p servers?
