Well the linky has serverd its purpose and now its starting to need frequent reboots and what not so I want a new router but I have a question. For staters these prices

4-Port Cable/DSL Firewall Router FR314NA $249.99 (http://www.netgear.com/product_view.asp?xrp=4&yrp=12&zrp=82)

Cable/DSL Router with NAT and One 10/100 Port RT311 $119.99

RO318 Cable/DSL Security Router with 8-Port Switch RO318 $199.99 (http://www.netgear.com/product_view.asp?xrp=4&yrp=12&zrp=96)

RP114 Cable/DSL Web Safe Router with 4-Port Switch RP114 $149.99

RT314 Cable/DSL Internet Gateway Router/Switch RT314 $120.42

Am I missing something? The RO318 Looks much more feature rich and the price for a FR314NA is 50 dollars more. An explanation if you can percieve one would be nice and also your thoughts on the 2(RO318 and FR314NA) would be nice also.

I would go for the NetGear RT314. I use it, and it works peachy. Before you head out to get one, did you ever try updating your router's firmware?

I have an SMC router, but looking at the descriptions of both of those Netgear ones, I have to say that I agree with you, the 318 does look better. It has 8 ports vs 4, and supports up to 253 users, instead of just 45. I may have overlooked something, but they both seem to have all the same features. I don't know though, there are probably people on here who have used both, and they'd have the best opinions on it for you.

Well Im still not sure now because a new router has entered my sights the zywall 10. Now that looks really nice put the price looks a little steep(279.00). I did flash the linky firmware with the recent beta but I think I just want a new toy:D

I like mine a lot. I think it was like $89 from Egghead. SMC7004BR. 4 port router with built in switch and print server, and NAT. They have an 8 port one as well, but I don't know how much it is.
