LAN Question

I am going to setup a network for approx 20~30 PC
I just wonder does it going to it going to make a lot speed difference if I connect some PCs throught 2 layer of switches to server compare to 1 layer of switches to server.

You should be okay.We are set up that way and everyone is fine not only to the server but also beyond that to the T-1 with great surfing speeds.40 users.22 off the first switch,the other 18 off the second switch.

How many ports on each switch? I would think the only reason you'd want to do that is for load balancing purposes, but then again it also depends on your Internet line rate, and how burstable the line is. Mind filling in some more details?

T1, OC 12? HP ProCurve, Cisco switches?
