View Full Version : Lost 128-bit encryption in Explorer. HELP!!!

I recently installed Internet Explorer SP2. Now I can't access my banking page or my Hotmail, probably many others too. When I click Help-About Internet Explorer, it says Version: 5.50 4807-2300IC
Cipher strength - 0-bit (Update Information)

When I go to the Update info page, it only lists 128 encryption packs for 5.01 and lower - I tried to install most recent but it wouldn't do it, saying it wasn't compatible with my version of Explorer:(

Anyone know what's up?

Thanks

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 6, much better than IE 5.x :)

The link above didn't help - there's no IE 5.5 128-bit encryption update to download - the latest version they have available is IE 5.01.

Still screwed up!!!!!

This is the page you end up at - it says if you have IE 5.5 you don'tt need to upgrade your encryption unless you're running Windows 2000, which I am not:

Tried that one already - it tried to install, then informed me that it was for IE 5.01 and installation will be terminated.......

Nope, no bugs whatsoever on my end, and I've been running it for a long time, give it a shot :)
