Hey all!!

I have two problems. First, my Windows seems to have lost its folder options memory.....every time I click on a folder/directory in Windows Explorer, all the names are jumbled up, instead of nicely listed in alphabetical order like usual. I can of course choose Arrange Icons/By Name, but I have to do it every time - not just when I start a new instance of Explorer, but EVERY TIME I click on another folder/directory......:(It's very frustrating!!! BTW, in Folder Options, "Remember each folder's view settings" is selected. I'm running Windows 98 SE.

Also, does anyone know how to uninstall/de-select a Winamp plug/in? I installed a cross-fader Plugin and selected it, but you can't deselect it in the PLugins/Output preference menu without selecting another one.........

Thanks if you know!!!!!!

open up a instance of explorer and get everything the way you want it. Then go to the tools menu>folder options>view. click the button "like current folder" and click yes when the dialoge box appears. I don't use winamp so Im of no use there.

As for the Winamp question, you need to set it to "Nullsoft DirectSound plugin", which is the default setting :)

Oh, and my Explorer seems to have fixed itself when I installed IE 5.5 SP2, so everything's cool and the gang.....

Actually, your solution only works within Windows Explorer. However, my real problem is downloading/saving files to disk, from the net, email or anything else. When the Save To dialog box appears, all directories and files are jumbled up, so I have to right-click and choose Arrange by Name to get them in alphabetical order so i can find what directory I'm looking for. THen, let's say there's more directories under the one I choose, I have to right-click AGAIN becasue THEY'RE all jumbled up.:(
In Windows Explorer everything's fine...........

Its the most annoying thing ever!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
