how do you decompress de .ras files?

Easiest way is to move rasmaker.exe(and the other file in that folder) to your Max Payne directory(same one that contains the .ras files). Then, in a command prompt, 'cd' into your Max Payne directory, then type(without quotes) "rasmaker -x x_data.ras"
Do that for each .ras file. Or you might be able to get away with just "rasmaker -x *.ras" not sure though, didn't try it.
After you do this, make sure your remove the original .ras files from your Max Payne directory, or you will get duplication errors.

no problem :)
thanks for the help.
when he says "cd" into it he means change the directory there..
like
chdir C:\max payne\rasfile\ etc etc
then once there you can run rasmaker.exe and its switches

hey cornbread, forget it, I found what you are looking for exactly. The caption on the download even says for people that are unfamiliar with dos commands. http://www.maxpaynecenter.com/downloads/index.phtml?id=90021&language=en :D
do it liek this to extract them
rasmaker.exe -x x_music.ras C:\temp
change x_music.ras to whatever one you want to extract... and change C:\temp to where you want it extracted.. there can be spaces so try %20 or use C:\temp
x_music.ras doesnt contain any gun sounds or voices just music.. lol like when you get to a heated scene of battle and the music plays..
