Does the Comp Specs Affect the Quality of Vid Cards.

In my last post i was recommended several Vid CArds, but what i have been wondering all this time is what if my system specs are too slow for new cards. My Comp was made 1yr and a half ago and im wondering if i install a Geforce 3 for example, will i get 100FPS+?? Or a Geforce 2, MX400, GTS, PRO etc.

You have plenty of cpu to run Quake 3 with a Geforce 2/3

Of course when running at higher resolutions your cpu will be the bottleneck... over clock it a lil 500s have been known to reach 600+ no problem.
