I get satisfactory pings, and little packet loss, but still experience the same problem day after day. When playing games like Ultima Online and Diablo 2 I lose connection multiple times within the minute. I have called the cable company several times, and haven't gotten anywhere. I run a dell pentium 3, 1 ghz, 512 mb ram, on windows ME. I do have a linksys router, but even when the modem is connected directly to the computer I still experience the same problem. PLEASE HELP!

AntiHero you would have more luck in the Tweaking Section. Lobo can help you. And possibly you have DSL. Well post it in the tweaking section, much more help there.;)

All i know is that your MTU should be 1500 and your MSS should be 1460 i think. I dont know how to chg them though:p

Easiest way you can find out if you keep losing connection..

Do you know your gateway I.P.? If not, do you know an i.p. that is always active?

If you know your gateway or active i.p. ping it by going to "command" menu and typeing in " ping 24.xxx.xxx.xxx -t"

you will ping that i.p forever... if you drop packets.. Call your isp and get a guy out there to check your line and MAKE SURE TO GET A NEW CABLE MODEM.. NO MATTER WHAT.

Yes I am on cable... new cable modem recieved, and it didn't help. Had the guy check all the connections inside and out, no help. Disconnected router, no help. Could it be a problem with my system settings, network, or whatnot?
