Too Fast?

I am at my sisters house on ATT@home with an rca modem just like I have at home. I used cablenut tweak on this machine and I am getting speeds of 500KB to 800KB constant! never drops! I notice when downloading files that sometimes the dl will just freeze up! Is this because its too fast? I don't have a clue. The pc is a dell 933 P3 running winme, cable modem is going through a nic.

Is she using USB or NIC? It is possible it is too fast for the USB. Also make sure the drivers for the NIC (if shes using one) are updated. And if she has a router, make sure the firmware is updated. I get 1MBps steadily with no problems using a NIC, my computer is a 800 athlon, so she should be fine.
