Lag playing games on my Linksys router

I am having truble lag spikes when playing games like counter strike, now that I set up my home network. I am using a cable modem and a Linksys router. CT played fine untill i set the net work up. Now I get huge lag spikes (Well, thats what i think is going on) perioticly during the game and come out of them dead every time. Is there something I am doing wong with my set up? or do i have to get my gaming computer off the network? :(

I have the same prob here 2 people playing on at once it has a bit of lag on it especially at night.
