ok guys well i recently switched from my sympatico HSE dsl to cogeco@home cable service i noticed a very big improvement in speeds and stability i was getting downstream anywhere from 100-300k/s and a nice solid 40k/s upstream but recently in the last couple weeks its as if i cannot download anything faster then 40k/s if im dling from a local friend on same cable connection or from a 100mbit dump site (which i was normally getting 300k/s from) am only to dled at about 30-40k/s now i dont know what has recently happened but if anyone knows what may have caused this rapid change or any ideas plz respond thanx

good job changing to @home.. I had bell's so called "High speed" edition... bs crap..

anyways.. I have rogers@home not congeco... I haven't had that kinda drop.. before.. just lost my connection many times...

if u haven't changed anything in yer computer then it's prolly the server side... try a few more servers then if it is still the same... u can call the support on the phone.. don't bother emailing the tech cos they won't answer

phone em and get a response of what's happening.. if the problem keeps going on..

If I go above 150kps upload for more than a minute, my connectio ngets dropped too

Sounds like something with the levels on your cable, could be noise in your area, or low signal. Performance drops but you will still stay online. Contact your cable provider and see if they know of any problems in your area and get them to come out and check your connection if possible.
