Windows 2000 just didn't handle multi-media and gaming stuff as well as ME does.
I'm still banging my head against my cap, but hey...
** Speed 2163(down)/353(up) kbps **
(At least 43 times faster than a 56k modem)
Finish.
Well ME is nothing at all like XP, 98 and ME are like kiddy toys compared to your next OS, so if you did not like 2000, you will hate XP, it's harder:) :) :)

That's the first compliment I heard about Win ME:D
Why wouldn't Win 2000 handle multimedia and gaming stuff better than Win ME:confused:
The last week, my Win. ME has been doing spontaneous restart every one/two hours. Couldn't get a complete download, and got kicked back to the end of the queue:(
If Win. ME is really that great, might wanna think again:)
It's not that it's better, it's easier, but get ready, you are in for the treat of your life:) :) :) :)
Win ME is great for me. Not for ease of use, but for compatibility and for speed. ME blows w2k away on my machines.
And who says XP is going to be harder? I think you should do a little more research before you say that...

2K is not that complicated at all... I am fairly adept with all the newer Windows OSs... NT, 95, 98, ME, and 2K. I used to be able to get around on 3.11... but I have forgotten most of that old school stuff.
Believe it or not, Ive even had various *NIX OSs up and running on several different machines. If there is a manual available I can always RTFM and bumble through!
The problem with 2K, for me anyway, was choppy multimedia and gaming performance. I do a lot of guitar stuff and MP3s on my PC, and my wife and son are gaming nuts, and it is easier for me to re-install ME than it is to try and resolve various issues in 2K.
Maybe XP will be better... Im sure looking forward to it!

And before any old timers jump on me for calling Win 3.11 "old school..."
My first PC was a Timex-Sinclair. If you go back any farther than that, you can call my a newbie!

Anybody remember those? I was 6 or 7 when I got that. I moved on to a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A that hooked up to my BLACK AND WHITE TV, just like the Timex-Sinclair did. FINALLY I got an Apple IIe with the 80 column card and two floppy disk drives... it even had a monochrome green screen Apple monitor! That was a HOT machine. After that came an IBM PC... no hard disk drive... then numerous PC clones... all the way up to my already out-of-date 1GHz machine that Im typing this post on.
I've been around the block huh? Hehehehehe...
