Hey WhaSuP...

I Have a bad hard drive in my pc..(im running 2..HarDisk's)..
and everytime i start windows it comes up with Scan Disk and whants to surface scan the Drive..
Iv'e tryed letting it complete the process but theres to many Bad Sectors..
To me the Drive is doing its job i havent had no crashes or nothing..
i'd like to stop Scan Disk running Scan Disk at startup..
Is This Possible..?

i had a problem were my hard drive got locked by fix it utilities and scandisk would pop up and go away in an instant cuz it cant scan the locked drive, dunno how u can lock other than dl fix it utilities and funk up the install lol

Why don't u try doing scandisk in Windows see whether it'll fixes the bad sectors, but i doubt that it can. :mad:

Try renaming the files scandisk.exe and scandskw.exe. Remove the .exe and put .bak. That way windows can't use them. They are in the windows folder. There is a way to disable scandisk on boot, I just can't remember how (I'm on Win2K) I'll look at a Win98 machine Monday when I get to work.

Also if you run scandisk in the through mode it may be able to repair the bad sectors.

The scandisk and defrag from WinMe are much faster. I put them on my web space if you want to use them. Put them in the C:\Windows folder, windows will give you a prompt about the files existing already, just say yes to let it over-write the old files.
