View Full Version : Help!!!
My bios is asking for a password and i did ot set a password...nobody else did either. I am reloading 2 of my HDD's and when I go into change the boot options it asks for a password. I took the battery out of the mobo for about 10 mins. and it did not take it away and it should have. The interseting part is I loaded one of the HDD's with win2k and tried to connect to the net, I have cable and did not connect but would that have been long enough for a virus to slip through and corrupt my bios. I have the Gigabyte Dual Bios Raid board. I also tried to copy from the backup bios to the main and boot and it still asked for a password!! HELP!!!
I am going to shutdown now and take the battery back out and try to erase the bios password again...please give your suggestions..I will be right back.

sometimes it takes longer then 15 minutes for the bios to clear. I had talked to a tech from the company I bought my mobo from. He told me that it could take up to three days for the bios to clear when you remove the battery. I do have trouble believing that, but I can believe that it might take longer then 15 minutes. I would suggest removing the battery either overnight or for at least an hour. Unles you can find a better suggestion.
this happened once before but my girlfriend did it and it only took 5 minutes...and by the way give me until sunday and i can have your registry hack for the content advisor!
