View Full Version : Just Reformated and Trying to get old CAble Speed Back
TCP options string = 020405b401010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 65535
Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2621.4 kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1048.56 kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 47 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
Thats it. If There are any changes i can make plz tell me
:D

Anyways, Operating system matters. Your RWIN will depend on your connection, so you have to fine tune.
Download the correct patch from: http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml
Isin't his OS supposed to be at default state, which it is not before he applies our patch

Negative.
Wrong again, our patches add values but if he has patch already installed that has other values installed, they stay

Wrong Lobo.
They're added in the registry which over-write the ones he already has.
Na, our patch only adds certain values, if he has one that added other values to things our patch does not touch, they stay, that is why we use Cablenut to clean it all out

Lobo, you dont have grounds to say Im something else, look at yourself. mr. 12 year old who cant use grammar.
Ive been here over a year, you havent been here 10 months. Who cares how long. The guidelines that say dont install over regular stuff is for people who dont know what they are doing, or could cause problems. He just had a MTU patch installed.
Banzaiiboi
What patch did you install?
I enjoy this, this is what you do to me, sooooooo:) :) :)

I have been doing this , this way since before you were born, I am not changing on your say so, I'm sorry about your banned stuff but you do not jump into a thread just because you feel like it. I have copied some of these answers and who knows where they might show up, I told you long ago, you do it your way, and I mine, but thats not good enough for you, your way or no way

Jump into a thread? Sorry, I didnt know you owned all the threads here!
Lobo, I had a class regarding TCP/IP tweaking and we did infact have a guy from Microsoft come in and speak to us about it. It was a special class I signed up for. This is why Im doubting you alot! I know Windows wasnt around in 1986, so I dont trust you there.
Im just saying that our ways should be the same because you're teaching people wrong.
I;m not in the teaching bussiness, I just try and help people get going as fast as possible as soon as possible, you say RAM does not matter, CPU does not matter, well enough:)
OKay done Ty All,,,,,, Lol dont fight too much
