We have @home cable service and we just got a Linksys cable router and now i cant check my email. I know there is a way that i can but i seem that i cant figure it out on any of our computers. the only thing is i like to use nescape composer for my computer and the rest of the family uses outlook express on there computers. how would i go about setting it up.
Thanks

Try finding the ip address of your email server. You can go to a dos prompt and type ping mail.earthlink.net or whatever your pop3 server is. I am not sure what @homes is. It should come up with an ip address and you can put that in your smtp and pop3 server box in your email program.

@home should just use.
C:\ping mail
and it will give you the full route

Call and ask what the POP and SMTP names of the servers are.
They often aren't the same name, and it's better to use the name of the server, not the IP address. ISPs have been known to change mail servers, which often means same name/different IP address. Resolving your mail client by IP address may leave you stranded one day.
