DSL goes idle/freezes

My dsl has been having problems, im surfing the web and everything is fine, then suddenly it goes idle when i clik on a link it says finding site...., the activity light on my modem disappears and its as if i never connected, i know alot of people have been having this, how do u fix it

By the way, after its idle, it becomes active after like 30seconds
