I tried freeing up ports by doing the following but it didn't work.

1. Disable DHCP
2. Service Port range 21-25
3. Protocal - TCP
4. IP Address - 192.168.1.7
5. Apply

What am I doing wrong?

In the TCP Properties of your workstations, you also have to specifiy the Gateway (which is the router), and your ISP's DNS servers. DHCP used to hand out that info, you turned of DHCP, so you have to manually specify that info.

Are you trying to forward ports?

What software are you trying to use with the firewall?

Is a program like Napster not working?

all my programs work but like i cant send files via msn messenger and stuff like that
