View Full Version : cable and dsl modems on same computer???

If I have both a cable and dsl modem hooked up to my computer can I use both at the same time to download faster???? Is this a possibility If i have two network cards or is this impossible as they are both with two seperate companies and my ip is different for both?

Short answer no.

Longer answer maybe... You could bind the two nics if you have windows 2000 advanced server. BUT... you would have to be paying for both the dsl and cable modem services. Which is a real load on the the ol' wallet. Then you would need to buy windows 2000 advanced server which costs a sh*t load of money. I think about 200$ +. If you don't want to buy windoze 2000 advanced server you could use Linux, but since you don't know the answer to this question using Linux wouldn't be advisable if you are short on time (don't worry, most people don't bother taking the time to learn linux anyways).

p.s those of you reading this don't blast me for telling the truth... linux people...

actually yes u can. There are sum special hardware that is very expensive.. or u can go with www.midpoint.com which is software that will bind both of them...

thanks for the giant!! that program is cool i now download at welll over 250 k a sec, while with either of my connections I could only get a little over 100 k at a time!!! thanks great advice!
