I'm thinking about getting the Verizon Professional DSL package and trying it out (I'm real tired of Adelphia cable) and from having Verizon before I recall having to connect (or dial up) before being able to surf or play online games.
My question is...I have a D-Link 713 router, gateway, and switch with a 2 computer home network. The D-Link 713 has PPPoE functionality. My question is will the router take over the job of connecting to the internet so both computers on the network can connect. In other words, after configuring the router, will I have to connect at any of the PCs or can I just open a browser and be on the net like with cable.
Also, I'm getting the profesional package so I can get more bandwidth (384 v. usual 128) going up enabling me to run a game server. Is anyone aware of any issues running a game server (Quake III Arena) with PPPoE?
Thanks in advance!
