ok, heres the deal. I have mediaone cable internet service and ive been using it on this computer for about a year. I just recently bought a new computer and im trying to hook both computers to the internet. I have a network card in both computers and a no-brand name broadband adsl cable SOHO router. I also have the cat 5 cables to hook everything up. I have no problem in setting up the wires and everything, its just the software. Anyone know where i can find a tutorial or something to help me configure both computers?? thanks

I don't know how much this will help, but with most routers, it is best to set your pc's up as a DHCP client, meaning they obtain all info from the DHCP host.....the router.
For most, your TCP/IP settings should be at their default meaning, obatin IP automatically, no subnet, no gateway, disable DNS, etc. All of those settings get programmed in to the router itself. Most routers have some type of web based setup usually accessed by typing in http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 into your web browser.
