This started a few days ago. I'm not sure why because I haven't messed with any settings or anything latly. Whenever I try to open something such as a game, winamp,my computer, etc, a Explorer error comes up and the details look like this:

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module OLEAUT32.DLL at 0177:6539eef9.

You can get that error mesage if you upgraded IE and then downgraded. The files are then mismatched. OLE AUTOMATION is included in all of the newer MSJVM's. (java machines)
Get the latest JVM here:
http://www.microsoft.com/java

Your error is in Explorer, not Internet Explorer, but because IE is integrated in the OS, some of the IE files are used for explorer.

IF you are using a new install of win98, there will be a download at winupdate called "ole automation fix".

Other possible causes:
HERE (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q249/1/91.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=ipf&rnk=22&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=W98)

The Pretty Park worm will cause such errors as well.
