Okay earlier i had a thread about installing win98 to get win2000 installed. Okay i did that and then installed windows2k clean...not over 98. Howerver now it still has both OS's and is asking me on boot up which to use. I only want win2k...how would i go about deleting WIN98 and kiling the DUAL boot screen?

Make sure that your BOOT.INI file only shows one OS entry. It should look something like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
You can further configure how long that screen stays up at boot by right clicking My Computer and navigating to the Startup and Recovery Options on the Advanced Tab.
The BOOT.INI file is System/Hidden so you may have to change the file attributes to get to it.

format c:? hehe or format d:?
If windows 98 is on a different partition, which im pretty sure it is... you can just format that partiton as long as its not the primary.. right?
Good luck, let us know how it turns out
PS, consult somebody else before you try what i said

My suggestion to anyone wanting to dual or multi-boot a few different operating systems is to read these guides. They are excellent full featured and just what the doctor ordered :)

JBKM if you play games, then leave win98 and load just games there.
also on boot it should default win2000, just it will count down i think from 20, you can change that to 1 sec.
