I installed Quest@Home's speed patch (spatch.zip) file to optimize my dsl connection. After the successful install, my connection monitor shows the continuous transmitting and receiving of large amounts of data. I made sure that all internet programs were closed but the data is still being transmitted and received. I uninstalled the patch but that has not corrected the problem. I don't know if the patch caused the problem but it wasn't happening before the install. Can anyone please advise a solution.

Thanks in advance

It would be best for to post this question in the tweaking forum. This forum is for Speedguide Teams. You probably won't get much answers here, but tons there.

All the patch does is open your dsl door a little wider so you get more speed. Do you have a firewall or such? If you are new to High-Speed Internet, you should know that it is not uncommon to be pinged at least 30-40 times a day. This is probably it. I would suggest getting a firewall, and then you can see who is trying to access your puter.
