I just recently upgraded from win98se to win2k. My sound card is a Turtle Beach Montego II and there are not any drivers for this card for Win2k, but there is a low level, somewhat generic driver that can be used and that is what I am on.
My C: drive with win2k is NTFS and my D: drive with my Mp3's is FAT32.
On a fresh boot, I can usually play Mp3's on my D: drive through Winamp without a problem. However, when I boot my favorite game (Tribes 1 made by Dynamix-->Sierra) I get choppy sound during the game and I lose the capability to play Mp3's. I never had any problems with the sound in the game when I was on Win98se or any problems running Tribes with Mp3's.
I don't have any idea why this is doing what it is and if you any of you know, I would be very thankful for any advice you can offer.
