what is coalenceses buffer? and what is recieve buffer? all this settings are for my nic card and i'm just wondering what it is and if it will enhance my performance. I have an intel pro 100+

Let me see if I can help you a bit...

I guess you could play with those settings and see if they improve your performance, just remember what the initial settings are so you can fix them if the changes create problems.

The most important settings are 10Mb and 1/2 duplex. If you have a Surfboard SB4100 Cable Modem it will work fine with 10MB and full duplex, but you wont see any performance gain *at least I dont.* Im not sure if any other Cable Modems will support full duplex, I know that some will NOT function properly with full duplex.

are u talking about the ramdisk or the tweak files?
