 Just wondering if everyone else from green wood down to just about scottsburg using insight cable is getting a little tired of waiting for the @ home service to show up
not that we have a choice in the matter:)
The last respone I got from insight blooming district which is the hq for the above said area is sometime before th end of 2001
at least thats a start:eek: reason for the delay uh theres a shortage of cable more like a shortage of brains
insight or @ home are only 2.5 yrs behind in the roll out in this area yes I know indy has @ home now road runner
all i can get down here in franklin a scant 20 miles from indy is isdn for 100$ a month a litle too much $ but a little better than dial up i using franklinisp.net as my local isp
when the tech from sprint came to install isdn I did ask about dsl
(feb 2001) he said by the end of the year we might have sprint ion , being only 1 mile from the local switches I think i get decent speed,
anyone in the blooming insight cable area send a email asking where or when will it be available
 to mailto:colaluca.l@Insight-com.com regional vp:rolleyes:

hey man i know it sucks to be without a BB connection, but i will tell you this Insight is BUSTING THEIR ASSES all over their markets right now and they have been for about 3-4 months now.
they are undergoing an entire network rebuild in almost all areas
if you have been keeping up with their web site www.insight-com.com then about the time that page went from being a total piece of useless crap to a very informative site with specific break downs for each area was when the work went into high gear
as an example of what they have done in louisville they went from one old head end to 3 they rebuilt the origional louvil1 and added strayave and one other that escapes me
they have also gone through and cleared out a huge backlog of service calls as well
their customer service is still not the worlds best but it gets better by the day as well
I DO NOT WORK FOR INSIGHT AT ALL and i hate to give you the company line, but trust me they are working their asses off....yes they do have a long way to go, but they are taking good steps daily
it is also very hard to pinpoint rollout dates for things of this nature as well
i know it sucks to wait, i hate to wait more than anyone, but i can give you more hope than most have out there in the BBless areas.....and that is they are indeed working on it and much faster than many other companies are
one last work of advice is double check both the phone sales and the internet sales as often as you can because sometimes one will say no you cant get and the other will say oh yes you can when the roll out first happens...then you can be one of the first
hope this helps a little

Thanks for the info I do belive it might be here in oct a little over 3
months I dont mind waiting if I can Reliable service, all you have to do is read all the service problems about @ home in the message bases. I used to live in st matthews near
THE MALL no the other mall :) the rep at insight said they did have to rebuild the lines but I belive the cable in my house is ready (new house 3 yrs old) hopefully when i get @ home I get rid of this isdn line from sprint unless dsl is here first:)
what kind of speed and service are you getting down in louisville ?
I m guessing when they rebuild the line I get addional tv channles to watch.
one last thing I read or heard amertech suppose to have all of ind dsl ready by end of the year 768 down 128 k up 50$

actually i am not in louisville i am in Dallas Texas
i just happen to have a bit of inside info on insight which is how i know what i said before
i think OCT. is a realistic date for the rollout
remember just keep checking with differant sources from insight about availability for you so you can get it as soon as it is out
GOOD LUCK MAN

Here in Clarksville it has been up for a two or three years now. They are upgrading us to be the same as Louisville.
Hang in there, it`s coming...............
