I signed up for Adelphia Cable Modem server about 3 weeks ago. For the first couple weeks I would have a outage here and there, then about a week ago I have been unable to get onto the internet for more then 5 minutes at a time.
I get an IP address from Adelphia and I can ping other machines on the same subnet, but I cannot ping the gateway or DNS server. I am told from customer server (or lack there of) that it is a problem on my subnet and they are working on the problem. I have tried it using 3 different PC's with the same outcome to verify it was not me.
I have taked (and yelled) at their customer server people, but all they say is they are working on the problem with no details.
Does anybody know who I can complain to? Are the any government agenices that would like to here me?

Well, you don't have many options. Cable modems are not regulated by the FCC. They may be regulated by the Tennesse PUC, but probably not. They may be regulated by the local cable office, but probably not. That leaves the Better Business Bureau.

going thrugh the bbb doesnt really benefit you but rather other people...

I would cal the manager of your service and DEMAND a fix or you will find a more reliable ISP for your money.

Not to mention getting credit due for all the downtime.
