Why don't these idiots upgrade to the new patch? It's aggrevating as hell to join a game and await it to start up only to get a "server uses protocol XX" message.
maybe this will help ;-)

On reason is because several cool mods dont run well under the latest patch.
Another is remote consoles don't always run well or work at all under the latest patch.
Yet another is is you want your server to fill up, you could patch it and have it join the 1500 - 1800 other servers out there, and never get a visitor...or your can leave it unpatched and have it join the server list of 40 - 50, and fill up within minutes.
I ran mine patched for several days, and maybe got a couple of visitors per day. I yanked, re-installed unpatched, and it fills within minutes.

Runs Berrylium with the hook.
I think one of the problems is for some reason, servers are not getting reported reliably, especially in gamespy. It APPEARS that this is specific to 1.29, so there may be a lot more 1.29 servers out there than you know about. See this thread: http://www.forumplanet.com/gamespy/topic.asp?fid=1434&tid=238151 (I'm GurleyMan there)

hmmmm..I see. Guess there will be yet another release.
yep using gamespy most seem to come up 127,i just use in-game menu and have no probs findin 129 servers
gamespy also seems to bog down at times why not use it to find servers to add to in-game favs list then launch that way
