hello'

is their a way to increase download speeds? the test below was taken today

Your download speed : 1205706 bps, or 1205 kbps.
Browsers would show : about a 147.1 k/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 5504587 bps, or 5504 kbps.
Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?
Your connection rocks .. above the 1mbit barrier!

this is a second test done 10 mins later-

Your download speed : 2838015 bps, or 2838 kbps.
Browsers would show : about a 346.4 k/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 5504587 bps, or 5504 kbps.
Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?

Receive Window (RWIN): 607360
Window Scaling: 4
Path MTU Discovery: ON
RFC1323 Window Scaling: ON
RFC1323 Time Stamping: OFF
Selective Acks: ON
MSS requested: 1460
TTL: 65
(less any hops behind firewall)
TTL remaining: 48

Input line speed for RWIN recommendation
Looking good

Example 146000 byte download
Actual data bytes sent: 150380
Actual data packets: 103
Max packet sent (MTU): 1500
Max packet recd (MTU): 1500
Retransmitted data packets: 3
sacks you sent: 15
pushed data pkts: 1
data transmit time: 1.057 secs
our max idletime: 59.3 ms
transfer rate: 104507 bytes/sec
transfer rate: 836 kbits/sec
This is not a speed test!
transfer efficiency: 97%

A few re-transmissions seen (FAQ #705)

ICMP (ping) check
Minimum ping: 38 ms
Maximum ping: 40 ms
Ping stability:
- - - - 38 - 40 38 38 38
Loss at 56byte pkts: 9%
Loss at 1000byte pkts: 20%

should i be concerned about packet loss showen above and the retrainsmission of packets

you can see my 1st post listed as newbie with t-3 line which
shows all tests that i have done, located at the 2nd page of this forum.

also what should my vmax and vmin be set at?

thanks
