TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 1460
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 730
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 58.4 kbps (7.3 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 23.36 kbps (2.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 34 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

I don't know why but I tried eveything to change my Rwin but failed. I am not using a proxy( I have checked it) but I am using Norton internet security so that means I am behind a firewall. Also what is the recommended Rwin for my system?

Spec: Win98SE, 128Ram, Duron 800Mhz and 1.5Mbytes Cable Modem.

Vtcp386 Fix (http://www.speedguide.net/files/vtcp386/236926USA8.EXE)
Sounds like you need that ShokoX. Download it and run it then reboot. I would recommend a Rcv Win of 256960 for a start depending on your cable speed. Hope that helps.

If that does not work you may have to go into registry and change number yourself, it tells you how and where here (http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_registry.shtml)

Make sure you REBOOT (Very important or it will not work) after you change number:)

Hmm the Rwin setting in my registry is 256960 which is correct since I installed the SG patch but when I do the tcp/ip test, it still show my Rwin at 1460. Out of frustraion, I reformatted my HD install Win ME instead of Win 98 SE and bought myself an addition of 128 PC 133 ram making it 256 total. Installed cablenut then SG patch followed by the web patch. This is what I get now:

Looks like everything is unchanged but I swear I did installed all the correct patches. Does it have something to do with my NIC? The strange thing is, the RWin value in the registry is set correctly to 256960. The download speed I get is good 190KB/s for my 1.5Mbytes. Any idea why?

Have you tried disabling Proxy?

If you don't know how then do a search for it here.

I am not using any proxy. None of the options in Lan Setting are checked. I think I am in major problem.

Do you have @home cable and do you have their software installed:)

Type REGEDIT in run box, when registry comes up, click on edit then find, type 1460 in box, registry will go to where 1460 is listed, do not delete or change MSS, see if you find 1460 that is not MSS:)

I get the same readings even though my rwin in my registry is different and I have put the vtcp386 fix in and have disabled the proxy settings too..I think ( I don't know for sure) it is something with my isp probably yours too..If you use dsl reports tests you will find they will show your rwin as what you have it set in registry...I have spent the last 6 months tryin to figure out why the anylyzer does this to no avail.....if you do figure out why post it!!!!!! I would like to know:) :cool: :cool:
