Hi,

I have 2 questions to ask you guys

1- When I play half-life I get kicked out for nothing, a server admin said that my packet loss was too high, how can I reduce my packet loss?

2- After a while I get some connection problems, I go to check if I am still online and I got disconnected, I have to reconnect to my ISP, it may be caused by my linksys router or half-life or the packet loss. I don't know.

I would appreciate the help

Thanks

I'm no expert, but it sounds like you have some connection problems completely outside of HalfLife. I don't know if your router setup is causing your trouble or your ISP connection itself is to blame. There are better diagnosticians than me that read this site, so post some specifics and maybe they can help.

But, I have heard many folks on this site and others that have dial up or broadband going through routers and it doesn't cause them to be kicked from CS servers. So, maybe try bypassing your router and see if you are having the same trouble first then you can narrow the problem.

Packet Loss I believe is another term for lag, which is quite common in online gaming. It sounds like yours got so bad it was slowing the server down trying to manage your bad connection in the game.

Good luck,
