Take the TCP/IP Analyzer test, the link is located in my signature. Copy and paste your results, don't forget to backspace your IP Address. Also post your system specifics;Operating System/RAM/Processor and CPU speed. Also post your advertised speeds. Advertised speeds are what your Internet Service Provider says you're capable of acheiving. Also take a speed test at www.pcpitstop.com. Thank you. Good luck.

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits

Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
*64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 28 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Windows Me,63Mb of RAM,Intel Celron, 700 MGz
i duno the advertising speed were can i find out

At what rates do you download? What version of Internet Explorer do you have? Have you ever cleared your cache? Have you ever tried using Download Accelerator? www.downloadaccelerator.com

What are your system specs:)

Xtorm
07-06-01, 08:18 PM
intel celeron 700mghz 63 mb of ram is that all thats needed

Lobo
07-06-01, 08:23 PM
The biggest problem is you have very little RAM, when you deduct what everything else uses, well you need at least 64 more megs of RAM and 128 would not hurt, I don't believe you are going to burn any rubber with that amount of RAM, try lowering RWIN to 481800:)

what are your caps? For all you know, you could already be reaching them, which in that case you've done all you can.

Xtorm
07-06-01, 08:25 PM

Lobo
07-06-01, 08:31 PM
Do you have Cablenut's adjuster? :)

Xtorm
07-06-01, 08:37 PM
yes

Lobo
07-06-01, 08:41 PM
Bring up adjuster inside 4.2 on your desktop, Take out number in box that says DefaultRvcWindow and put in 481800, at bottom click on save to registry and REBOOT:) :) :)

Xtorm
07-06-01, 08:42 PM
and that will make the download times faster

Xtorm
07-06-01, 08:44 PM
Thanks now let me rebot you got a place where i can check the speed

Lobo

You always take the highest reading as it is a better connection, probably be better late at night or early in morning, get more RAM, will raise RWIN back up and you will be faster :) :)
