I was working on a machine (p166 32mb of ram :D ) and just finished doing the Windows updates for 95c. I restarted like it said.

Then the windows protection error came up saying to restart my machine.

Restarting brought me to "it is now safe to shut down your computer screen"

I worked on several other machines similar to this and did the same thing as above (windows update) and had no problems.

The machine has a 3com 3c905-tx nic in it. Just curious as to what caused this.

Thanks:)

Considering it only has win 95 and ie 5.01 sp 2 on it, The machine wasn't much of a problem to work on.

I fixed the machine by removing the 3com card. I was able to get into Winblows and remove the network card from Network Neighborhood.

I reinstalled the 3com card with updated drivers and the problem was fixed.
