What do you mean you can't do anything?

Does it not run? Overwhelm your system?

I played MS Combat Flight Sim 2 The Pacific Theater and it's incredible. Yes quite realistic, not arcade like, but quite fun.

Not that, it runs GREAT! Buts it like I cant control my plane. If I wanna go left, I hit the left arrow, and my plane spins all the way around.

Maybe my keys are setup wrong

This has happened to me in every flight game that I've ever used if I use the keyboard. I have never been able to get the keyboard to work properly for flight controls. Then I bought a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro and I am able to fly!

It was exensive at the time I bought it $129.95 @ Outpost.com, but now that they have the Force Feedback 2, I'm sure you can get it for alot less.

Yeah generally good joysticks add a lot to flying sims. I have the MS Sidewinder also.....works great.

If you are looking to go the cheap route for flying games, two of my favorites would fit the bill:

1: DID's (not Novalogic) F-22. The game is a bit old and hard to find, but it is a heck of a lot to fun to play. It is relatively easy to fly, yet there is a fair amount of challenge in the game. Grab it if you can find it.

2: Aces High. This is a free game that can be played online or alone. You can join airwings and fly missions with others online. I do not have much experience with this one, but what I have played has been great. Wide selection of WWII planes.

My favorite flight sims are :
Janes f/a -18
Janes USAF
Janes Fighter Anthology

Falcon 4.0

I would never try to fly these without a joystick and pedals..

I use to fly them every day, now I can't stop playing
UT--StikeForce
so they don't get much of a workout right now.

Hey CoolJ I would recommend Falcon 4. I think it's one of the best flight sims ever, just the textures on it are amazing. I used to play it on my 500 Celeron with 96 ram that was shared, and it looked pretty good. Now I run it on my 840 PIII with the MX, and 160 ram... IT looks SOO Real its great. I highly recomend it. Peace:2cool:

I'm currently still fooling with Janes WWII fighters. Best with a voodoo card (still have an SLI rig for backup ;) )

Just in case cash is short, you can go with a joystick without Force Feedback and get the smooth control you need. I got a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D with a throttle and 8 buttons, USB or gameport for like $30.00. Force Feedback makes you feel the plane fighting you in turbulence or whatever. I guess it would be pretty cool, but I game on a budget. Anyway, it is a good idea to look for one with a throttle on the stick. Unless you are getting a separate throttle, it is very useful. Much easier than hitting "plus key" "plus key" "plus key" hehe.

Yeah, I used to be majorly into flight sims, but FPS games (especially online) have ruled my world for the last couple of years. Plus, I suck at sims now that I'm out of practice :-(

I got the fly by the seat of your pants fun sim Crimson Skies. It's just what it is advertised to be, pretty fun. Not very sim like. But I haven't successfully played multiplayer with that game, ever.

Anyway, good luck with it.
