Since I've decided to re-format my HD, I need to back some of my programs. I want to make a back-up of Outlook Express, and want to be sure that I will be able to read all the messages in my folders, plus all the e-mail addys in my address book.

Is there a particular way I should go about doing this(using the back-up app with Win 98 SE) to ensure I get everything? It looks as if the various folders are somewhere in the c:\windows directory and not in c:\program files......

And another thing; I have several apps that I no longer have the discs for. If I back them up and restore them after formatting my HD, will they still work or am I SOL?

TIA

Good Morning! I'll give you a link about your question and let you decide what information is relavent as for what you want.

How to back up OE (http://www.ask.com/main/askjeeves.asp?ask=How+do+I+Back+Up+Outlook+Express%3F)

As for the programs that you don't have the disks for, You should be fine as long as they aren't corrupted in anyway and work fine right now. The only thing that you may have trouble with is if they require you to register the product with a key code. If everything is backed up and transferred, I don't think this will come into play and you should be just fine.:)
