View Full Version : lokkit configuration in Redhat 7.1?
How do I use the x-based firewall configuration in Redhat 7.1? I know about the text based lokkit configuration through setup, but I want to use the x-based configuration under system on the program menu in KDE. When I open the program, it is just empty. Do I need to tell it where a config script is or something? If so, where is it? Thanks in advance.
I've never used front ends to IPchains or IPtables before, and probly never will :D
You'll need to surf over to www.linuxdoc.org and read up on your Linux firewall HOW-TO's in order to gain an understanding of how the Linux packet filter works. Then you'll be able to use that program.
You should'nt be using X windows when performing administrative tasks on your server, a hacker can log into your X server and pull up a virtual X terminal and spy on you, no BS!!
Drop X windows and use Linux like it should be. Hack it from the prompt and learn how to manipulate scripts. That way you'll never be limited by the borders of a GUI and you'll actually see where this talk about Linux being a robust OS comes from.
